Describe a course/subject you dislike You should say: 1.what was the subject 2.who taught this 3.why you disliked 4.how did you learn that subject
The subject I disliked when I was at secondary school actually was chemistry.
At that time, this subject was taught by a middle-aged man who was really rigid, just read the content of the textbooks without any background stories in history of chemistry, only focused on the parts which will appear in the test, that does make us like the studying machine without any joys.
The reason why I didn’t enjoy was that to memorize the periodic table which includes symbols of chemical elements, we not only have to recite their places, functions but also those related Chinese names, sometimes I could not figure out the Chinese pronunciations of those elements.
Another one must be the experiments in this class, like extracting the pure salt from the crude; distilling the tap water, especially the process of making crystals, the ingredients, the humidity, the temperature are difficult to manage. What’s more, the chemical reactions, formulas, interesting but complicated. |

1. What do you think of reading in your life?
答案一:I couldn't agree more. Reading is indeed the best hobby one could have. I pity those who can't stand books. I am addicted to books. It's not that I just read fictions and take pleasure in drifting away in those fantastic stories. I read non-fictions too. I actually prefer reading non-fiction as they have very brief and compact lessons to learn. I find reading quite charming especially when the material concludes with a very definite positive message.
答案二:It's really a nice and healthy habit most people should consider to follow. Reading builds up your mind, teaches us a lot and may avoid to follow a wrong way in life. How are the education facilities in your country in high schools like?
2. Reading and watching TV There are some key differences between reading and watching TV. I think that reading benefits more to one’s imagination. It offers more space for imaginations to run wild. Compared with reading, watching TV is less challenging and it doesn’t need much thinking. On the whole, I think reading is more beneficial than watching TV because the latter makes us lazier in thinking. |
