  三.范文赏析

  第一部分

  Name

  1. Is name important in China?

It’s kind hard to say. You know, there will always be people who have the impression that the name will play a huge role in their lives, some will even go far as to invite a fortune-teller to fix them with new names. However, to others, a name is only a symbol, nothing more than that.

  2. What kind of people is more likely to change their names in China?

For me, the first group of people off the top of my head is the celebrity. To make their names sound better and catchy, they often have new names when entering the entertainment filed, mostly they want change into new names which can better appeal the public. Another kind that I have to mention are those who are superstitious. Especially in China, certain people believe in fortune-tellers, for they believe a new name will bring a better destiny in some way. But who knows, from my perspective, it is just a willful thought.

  3. Is the any certain name popular in China?

Not in particular. However, certain Chinese characters are among the top-rank list for using in a name. Most of these characters sound decent and often have profound meanings, like the world Guowhich means nation in Chinese, is very popular name for boy.

  Study/Work

  1. What part of the day do you work the best?

I’m a morning person myself, so I would say in the early part of day, especially the time after waking up and before the breakfast, I’m surprisingly energetic at that period. Maybe it is for the habit that I develop in High School morning reading class. I can do my work most effectively around that time.

  2. Have you make any friends during the work?

Absolutely, some of my colleagues are very nice to me the day I join the company. That guy peter, from human resources, man, isn’t he hilarious; he can always crack up some jokes to crowd in the office. We all love him.

  第二部分:

  Sample Answer

Ok, well after a bit of thought, the person I’ve decided I’d like to talk about is my grandpa, who I learned an incredible amount from, and the one I’ll highlight is being able to invest wisely in the stock market.

And as for why he taught me this, well firstly, it was because my grandpa understood the importance of investing, as he would always say that it’s much better having your money work for you rather than you working for money! So that’s one thing, and I should also mention the fact that he used to really love playing the stock market. In fact, I think I would go so far as saying it was probably what he spent most of his time doing, partly, I suppose, because it kept his mind active, but more importantly because he saw it as a way of helping the family. In other words, he wanted to invest his pension so as to increase the inheritance that he would eventually pass down to us, which was very considerate of him, as was so many other things he’s done for me and the rest of my family.

Oh, and I suppose one other reason for him teaching me about the stock market is that he was aware that at school, we weren’t really taught about money or investing, so he must have realized that this was something that he was in a good position to teach me about.

But anyway, as for how I felt about learning all this from my grandpa, well obviously, I was really grateful to him for taking the time to teach me and share all his knowledge of the stock market, such as what to look for in a company before investing in it.

And because of this, I’m happy to say that I’ve been pretty successful, up to now, at picking good shares, and this is a skill I’ll be able to use for the rest of my life. So I feel super lucky, and will make sure I pass the same knowledge onto my own children and grandchildren!

  第三部分

  1. What do you think parents should teach their children?

No question parents play a huge role in one’s growing up. So for the things that parent should teach, not only the basic living skills like tidying up, cleaning house, but also those so-called life lessons. Parents are much more experienced than their child, so they can educate the child in how to communicate with others, how should they behavior according to the occasions, those can’t be taught by others.

  2. Do children learn the same kinds of things in the home as they do at school?

In my opinion, it is a no. the child at school usually learn more textbook knowledge, like how to write an essay, how to calculate the area of a circle. While at home, it’s a more intimate atmosphere, children usually have a freer space to acquire the stuff that parents want them to know, like how to social with others, how to dress according to the occasion, all those can’t be learnt at school.
