1. Whatdo you usually do when you have holidays?
I domany things. Sometimes, I stay at home to read and surf the internet torelaxmyself. Occasionally,
I’ll goshopping or traveling. Since I live nearthe suburbs, I’ll also go to ride thebike near a lake. It’s a
greatway to helpme get close to the nature.
2. Whatdid you do in your last holidays?
I wentto Hainan last holiday and stayed there for about ten days. Althoughthe weatherwas still cold
here,it’s very warm in Hainan. I walked on thebeach and appreciated the beautifulscenery.
3. Whichpublic holidays do you like the most? What’s your favorite festival?
I likethe holiday of spring festival because we can have a very long holiday. It’salso a time to be
togetherwith family and relax. I’m always lookingforward to it.
4. Doyou prefer doing things indoors or outdoors on a holiday?
I prefergoing outdoors because I usually stay indoors to work or study. It’sreallyimportant for me to
breathethe fresh air and exercise my body duringholidays. Sometimes, I would go onshort trips to
relaxmyself.
5. Inyour country, do old people usually do the same things as young people
during aholiday?
Itdepends. If the old people are retired at home, every day is like a holidayforthem. They would
preferto do some traditional things. For example, mygrandma would always make zongziduring the
dragon boatfestival.
6. Whatfamily holidays do you (or, does your family) usually celebrate?
Iusually celebrate the spring festival because it’s so important forChinesepeople, just like Christmas

I likethe spring festival holiday because it’s the time for family reunions. Icouldalso eat a lot of

life.Ithink balance is the most important thing for us.
Wherewould you go for long holidays?
There’rea lot of good places to go. I like both historical interest places andnaturalsites. If I have

Describea vehicle you would like to buy (or, own).
Youshould say:
whatkind of vehicle
what itwould look like
why youwould like to have it
andexplain why you would prefer this means of transport.

I likecars, especially uniquely designed ones. And now I’d talk about my idealcar,Porsche 918 Spyder. It’s a sports car designed by Porsche.
I fellin love with it when I first saw a girl driving in it passing me by. You know, the design is so cool and outstanding, so you’ll not fail to notice it evenwhen there are thousands of cars in the street. Driving such a car will surely makeme feel thrilled.
Besides,it has plug-in hybrid engine. It’s said it can be switched to a mode to onlyuse the electric motors. Nowadays, people are really concerned with the problemof air pollution caused by cars. If I can drive this car, I’m sure it’senvironmental friendly.
Inaddition, it’s a sports car and it has the most excellent performance on theroad. Fancy that when I am driving it on the road, I could easily surpassothers by slightly stepping on theaccelerator. It’s cool. The speed can reach over 320 kilometers per hour.Although I’m not planning to drive that fast, it can still make me feel excitedto know the capability of the car. Like most sports cars, the roof isconvertible, so it will allow me to appreciate the scenery and breathe freshair when I drive. However, the priceis a little high, about 4 million RMB. Maybe, one day I’ll be able to affordit. It’ll be great if I can drive it around.
Part 3
1. What kinds of transportation are there in yourhometown?
There’rea variety of them—buses, cars, and bikes. I usually ride a bike to school. Andpretty soon, the subways will be ready. I’m really looking forward to it because the traffic conditions will bemuch better then.
2. What kinds of vehicle (or car) do people inyour hometown buy?
Itreally depends. For some rich people, good quality cars are definitely theirchoice. For some middle-class people, bikes and electric bikes are very common.Right now, I don’t have anything, but I’m planning to buy a bike soon.
3. How do you think transportation will (ormight) change in the future?
I thinkin the near future, a lot of cars will use environmental friendly resources andpeople will drive safer cars, too. Actually, I still think it’s a good for thegovernment to invest more money in public transportation and make it easier andfaster. By then, maybe nobody has to drive anymore because it’s more convenient to use the public transportation.
